Skin Food from Skin Actives Scientific

plogo Skin Food from Skin Actives ScientificRecently I went through a bout of dermatitis. I am still unsure where it came from but I had been using quite a lot of acids (ascorbic, salcylic and DMAE among them). I’m of the school, “if a little is good, then more is better.” Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Although my skin was becoming very smooth (hey, look it’s smoother…let’s put some more acid on it!), I ended up ‘burning’ my face, neck and the palms of my hands…quite uncomfortable with lots of redness, itching and even some burning. Yikes! Plus, I looked like I’d had a peel, and I guess I had–a self-imposed one.

Skin Actives Scientific to the rescue…in the form of an amazingly active, incredibly gentle and wonderfully nutritive serum called Marine Nutrient Serum (MNS)! MNS contains a fully-active formula including sea kelp bioferment, sodium PCA, alpha bisabolol, coconut endosperm, natural active peptides, sodium hyaluronate and guaizulene. What are these actives, you ask?

Sea kelp bioferment: a sea macroalgae rich in caragenaan, algin, minerals and many active chemicals. Fermentation makes the cell contents of this algae readily available to your skin, moisturizing it and providing the nutrients required to synthesize new components. Incidentally, this is the key ingredient (the Miracle Broth™) in Crème de la Mer!

Bisabolol: this natural chemical is partly responsible for the anti-inflammatory effect of chamomile essential oil. Useful in the treatment of acne, may also help with rosacea. Yes!

Sodium PCA: this derivative of glutamic acid (an amino acid) is very hygroscopic, i.e. absorbs large quantities of water. It is one of the natural components of “natural moisturizing factor”.

Coconut endosperm: coconut endosperm (Cocos nucifera) is considered perfect “skin food”.

Sodium hyaluronate (aka Hyaluronic Acid): Because of its water holding capacity this active will help keep your skin moist.

Natural active peptides: a mix of small size peptides derived from marine collagen. They will help with moisturizing but, mostly, they will supply your skin with amino acids that will be used in collagen synthesis. They are also likely to work as “matrikins” making your skin cells synthesize new collagen just as when the skin is damaged.

Guaiazulene: this molecule, also called azulene, is a natural colored substance present in some flowers. It is an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory activity.

Combined in Marine Nutrient Serum, these ingredients create a power house of skin food, gentle and effective–and super healing and soothing. My skin is all better…perhaps even improved. Gotta love that.

RECOMMENDED: Make your own version Marine Nutrient Serum using Sea Kelp Bioferment from NCN Professional Skin Care and all other ingredients from Bulk Actives.

Rosacea is a common skin condition that affects many Americans, but it can also spread to the eyes and cause a constant gritty, burning sensation. I have dry skin and have fought with rosacea all my life. I have been in search a product that works on my skin, I am now 37 and I finally found it. I use the ZENMED Skin Support System – Dry Skin and I saw results in days! I recommend it to anyone who has suffered through various dermatologist prescribed treatments

Is this brand reliable? I mean are these products regulated etc? How does one know they use the genuine ingredients and are produced in a sanitary manner?

My experience with Skin Actives Scientific has been nothing but positive. They have many customers who can say the same. I have had personal dealings with the owners and product formulators and can honestly say that I trust their products more than I do many of the ones I see on the shelves at the drugstore. Do some research yourself, though, and don’t take my word for it. I encourage you to contact Skin Actives Scientific to find out what they’re about and how they make their products.
